Pre & Post Conference Tours
All over Portugal you can taste our wonderful gastronomy, see beautiful landscapes, and enjoy our sun and warmth. Having doubts about what you should visit? Here’s some help.
In Alto Minho you can see the beautiful landscapes and taste our Vinho Verde, a distinct wine only produced in this region.
If you enjoy nature, you should visit the only National Park in Portugal, the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Enjoy some truly unique landscape and take the chance to dive into one of the clear water waterfalls.
Wander through Northern Portuguese cities, the region where all the origins of Portugal are, and where the streets are filled with History, Culture and Heritage. Braga, funded by the romans, and Guimarães, considered the birthplace of Portugal, are the two of the Minho region cities with more history and tradition to offer.
Take some time to visit the Douro Wine Valley! Fall in love with the man-made natural landscape, UNESCO World Heritage Site, learn all about the famous Port Wines, visiting the wineries and tasting some amazing wines.
Visit the Fátima Sanctuary, the most important religious sanctuary in the country, located in Central Portugal. During this same day, you can visit “Mosteiro da Batalha” (the Battle’s Monastery), a UNESCO World Heritage Site built during the 14th century.
Another place to visit is our capital, Lisbon, that sits on the side of the Tejo river and is a cosmopolitan, vibrant and modern city that still holds the memories of days gone by. It’s still the same old Lisbon, filled with history, monuments, Fado (portuguese traditional music), filled with it’s amazing light!
While you’re in Braga or Guimarães, just next to the Spanish region of Galiza, why not adventure yourself into Santiago de Compostela? Home for one the most important Cathedrals in Spain, and a major pilgrimage destination in the World, where every day you can witness the arrival of hundreds of people from around the planet.
Last, but certainly not the least, you can take some holidays in some of the most beautiful places in Europe – Algarve, with its renown beaches; Azores, with its majestic landscapes; and Madeira, “the Pearl of the Atlantic”. Each of these places deserves some days to enjoy our sun, gastronomy and beautiful landscapes.

For this Lisbon day tour, we suggest visits to: St. George’s Castle and typical neighbourhood alleys of Alfama , the birth place of ‘Fado’ (Portuguese traditional music, classified as World Heritage); visit to the Belém area, launching point for the Portuguese discoveries, dotted with significant historic monuments in a beautiful open riverside setting and calm atmosphere. Here we’ll taste the world-famous and unique ‘Pastéis de Belém’ (custard tarts, fresh from the oven); traditional trade area, with buildings from the 18th Century; Baixa, the heart of the city and rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake with beautiful cobbled streets, named after the artisans who traded in the area. Many architectural styles are represented, including a unique ‘Gustave Eiffel’ designed ‘elevator’, still in working order; Chiado, traditionally home to many of Lisbon’s intellectuals, artists and radicals and recently restored after a devastating fire. Perfect for a late afternoon coffee or shopping. Gateway to the Bairro Alto district, famed for its narrow streets filled with ‘Fado’ houses, bars and buzzing nightlife.
For this full day tour we also suggest a visit to other Lisbon’s highlights, or simply extra time for shopping: trip on one of the original 1920s city trams, still in daily use; Lisbon’s ‘Oceanarium’ the largest in Europe, with species from every corner of the world; Nations Park, site of ‘Expo-98’. A recreation area alongside the Tagus River, where you can have a nice walk, ride a bicycle, do some shopping, go to Lisbon’s Casino and many other relaxing activities; shopping at malls, in the biggest shopping centre in Europe or in traditional trade market areas of the city; ‘São Vicente de Fora’ Monastery, the largest church in Lisbon with its beautiful cloisters; Ajuda National Palace, ex-official residence of the Portuguese Royal Family; Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, one of the most famous museums in Portugal; National Museum of Ancient Art, for lovers of antiquities; Coach Museum, the best and most comprehensive collection of horse-drawn carrieages in the world; Tile Museum, showcasing the history of traditional Portuguese handmade tiles.
